TRAVELING TO GET A TATTOO
Living on a remote island means that the majority of my customers need to travel to get a piece done by me. I am full of admiration for each person who decides to put all the effort to make this happen. If you consider traveling, feel free to reach out to me with any questions you have around this subject, I’m here to help. After receiving your booking form, we can schedule an online consultation to have a chat and talk about the design and all the questions regarding planning this kind of trip. Booking appointments on the weekends is also possible in this case.
CONSULTATION
Take your time filling out the booking form. All the fields that are marked as required are necessary for me to understand the theme and area I’ll be working with. Good photo of chosen body part will serve as a base for design drawing. If you feel like you need a talk, we can schedule an online consultation after initial email consultation. Online consultation is paid but once you book a session, this amount go towards the price of your tattoo. We can also meet at the studio to discuss the design and you'll find more on it in the next paragraph.
DESIGN
Working on a design is a three-step process: idea sketch, preliminary design, final design.
After the email consultation, we can proceed to booking a session. Only when the session is confirmed by a deposit payment, do I start working on the project.
Idea sketch: Around 7 days before scheduled appointment I reach out to you with a sketch of the idea. Depending on a consultation and how clear your expectation is, it will be one or up to three possible directions. Don’t hesitate to express your impressions, I am open to your feedback and it’s the time when we can play with the idea. We will discuss everything and I will explain further possibilities.
Preliminary design: After we agree on general direction, I proceed to the next stage of designing and give it a more defined form and add details. I will then send it you for final acceptance (2-3 days before the appointment). In case of complicated, larger projects or difficult placements, the consultation at this stage can take place directly in the studio. We will then discuss size, placement and check how the stencil adapts to the body.
Final design: Once all is agreed I prepare a final version of the design. I will send you a drawing 1-2 days before the appointment so you can get familiar with a piece that will become a part of your body.
PREPARING TO THE SESSION
Make sure to come to the session well rested and after light breakfast. Drink plenty of water before and during the session. If it's a full day appointment, bring snacks and food with you. Good sleep and hydration are very important. Not getting enough sleep will increase the body's response to pain. If you are preparing for long, demanding sessions, it is also recommended to get a deep tissue massage 2-4 times (depending on how tense the area is) before the sessions.
Dress comfortably and appropriately to ensure good access to the tattooed body part. Dark, loose clothes are the best option. Remember about shorts if we’ll be tattooing the leg, tank top if the arm, a front-zip shirt if we're going to be working on the back and you'll feel more comfortable with your front covered. I will appreciate dark, plain clothes that will look better in the photos we will take at the end.
If you are sensitive to stimuli, consider bringing earplugs or earphones with your favourite music, eye mask, warm layers.
